I have always loved chess, but never really got serious till a few years ago. Was a member of WorldChessNetwork when they were still on the web. ICC bought them out and I moved over to ICC for a short stint. I found Chess.com just searching the web for chess sites. This site has a ton of resources for anyone wanting to better their game. I decided to go ahead and buy a membership. Can't beat the unlimited resources for the price.
Books? Winning Chess series by Yasser Seirawan is great. In particular, Winning Chess Tactics! That book probably made the single most improvement in my play as far as books go. I also liked "Reassess you Chess" and "The Amateurs Mind" by Silman.
I would like to start taking lessons again. I took lessons from FM Vladan Rabrenovic when I was on WCN, and I really miss the individual training. Anyhow, if you see me in Live chess, send me a challenge, I love to play!
