Like playing chess in breaks between work assignments. Would like to be more focused but that is not always possible. On-screen errors are my biggest problem. Happy to learn new problem-solving approaches. Playing with people from across the world is enticing as well. I win a few and lose a lot, but am trying my best to improve! The aim is not just to win, but to enjoy a thrilling battle of wits and intellects. If I lose it means the opponent out-thought me and deserved his/her win. I play to the end usually, having won games even without a Queen or forcing draws and want to be able to choose when to quit; I hate it when people tell me to surrender.
I also co-administer a chess team called 'Celine Dion Music Fans' here. It's a group that recruits members by invitation only, so if you are a serious player and don't time out, love playing chess, eat, drink, breathe and dream chess, and enjoy team games and have esprit de corps, send me a request and you may be lucky enough to be invited on board! However, we only want active players, who play in team games and take part in vote chess: non-players can stay home!
Another group is World Friendship. Apply to join:
