Chaitanya Vaidya wins 2007 Collegiate Championship

The 2007 National Collegiate Championship was held in Houston, Texas from December 7-9, 2007. Rising talent Chaitanya Vaidya won the event with an impressive score of 6/7!

18.Kf1 seems better but it seems to me(and Fritz) that you are absolutely right!Rad8 was a lazy and casual move then !Though after Rad8,  if he prevents Ng4 with h3 (which I was expecting during the game) I have something interesting with Be5 de and d4! which leads to a messy draw . I think though Ng4 straight away makes more sense then ...

Chaitanya, what about 16...Ng4 17. Nd7 Bxh2+ 18. Kh1 Qd8 19. Nxf8 Qh4 or if 18. Kf1 then 18...Qc7 19. Nxf8 Rxf8 20. Be2 Qg3

 

Both of these lines seem to be good for black, right?

Hey I didn't play 16...Ng4 straight away since 17.Nd7 forks the Queen and Rook so first I played Rad8 controlling the d7 square
