Chess phone cheat caught

Submitted by SonofPearl on Thu, 04/17/2008 at 11:27am.

An Iranian player at the Dubai open has been caught cheating by receiving moves on his phone.  Mr.Sadatnajafi, rated 2288, was thrown out of the tournament in disgrace.

It is believed that his accomplices followed his games as they were broadcast live on the interent and sent computer assisted suggestions to him via text messages on his phone.  He was discovered receiving messages in round 5 of the event.  In the previous round he had defeated a Grandmaster.  All his results have now been annulled.

What does anyone get from cheating? I had rather lose honestly, than win by cheating. If I understood why people like that do things like that, I would be one of them.

Just to be clear - the cheater wasn't using a chess program on his phone.  He was receiving texts from his accomplices who were presumably using a strong chess engine running on a PC.

ok he maby did not receive 100 moves in the phone but for a cheater he only have to play a well known game like this one and in the crucial tine of the middle game start receiving the moves  e.g. cheaters shouldnt be allowed to play in any federation they are such disgrase for the game

CRAZY long game... just goes to show that cheaters end up playing really long games!  He couldn't have received 100 moves on his cell phone, could he have?
