Chess.com Helping Organize a Silicon Valley Chess Event

Submitted by erik on Wed, 04/23/2008 at 11:16am.

For those of you in Northern California, Jay and I will be helping run a casual blitz chess tournament at the Plug-n-Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale on May 5th. It's mostly about getting some of the engineers and entrepreneurs in the area together for some friendly games and drinks.

Details are here:

Would be fun to see some of you in person :)

is this gonna b an annual thing? I live in the capitol city area so I'm pretty close... I think I should be able to play tournaments in a year or so... I can play a pretty clean game after only 4 monthes of studing the game...

Silly questions:

  1. "Monday, May 5, 2008 6:00 pm PT - 8:00 am PT"

    Wow, that's a long event.  ;)

  2. " Blitz tournament (5 minutes per side)."

Are you providing boards & clocks (with time-delays)?

Una cerveza por favor...Smile

I've never visited the west coast of America, but I hope to do so before too long.  Is silicon valley a touristy sort of place?!  Laughing
