Chess.com and the US Chess League are happy to announce their cooperation for the USCL's 8th season.

The USCL holds a 13-week season (September-November) of chess matches between teams representing 16 American cities, with most of the nation's top professional players and top junior talents participating.

In order to reach a wider fan-base, the USCL will hold half of its matches on ICC (which has hosted all USCL matches for the first 7 seasons) and half of its matches on Chess.com. Monday matches will be played on ICC, with the moves relayed on Chess.com; while Wednesday matches will be played on Chess.com, with moves relayed on ICC. Both sites will also sponsor the USCL's 2012 season.

To further promote the league, live commentary has been arranged for all matches, by ICC on Mondays and by Chess.com on Wednesdays. The Wednesday shows on Chess.com/TV will be freely viewable by all. During the three-week post-season, both sites will provide live commentary.

Yes this is a bit sad, the budget for Baden-Baden in the old season was 200.000 € and the number 14, the USV TU Dresden had a Budget of 40.000 €. Obviously Dresden (they have only a few foreign GMs in their Team) can not afford the great players  Baden-Baden can. But that is just how most of the sports work nowadays, the one who has the most money usually wins.

It doesn't mean there won't be great games of the Underdogs against the big teams, because what does a Team like Dresden has to loose?

As the german chess Bundesliga is said to be the strongest in the world, is there going to be some more information on chess.com in the upcoming season about it?

For example the OSG Baden-Baden has 8 players out of a squad of 18 with a Rating of 2700 or above. (They are likely to win their next title in 2013)

My loyalties are torn between LA and San Francisco, and I feel a great deal of affection for Arizona.  Vibes and Mechanics and Scorpions, oh my !!

Great!  A double dose of Chess on both sites! :D  Glad to hear chess.com is now covering the games.  I am wondering if that will be for the free members  to watch the games here? (not referring to myself).

I wish this would have been done before the Chicago team got shipped out to Connecticut.  Nevertheless, it's a good move for promoting chess in the U.S.

"Will the USCL Chess.com group coordinate info?"

yes, if you are interested in the USCL, join the USCL group, that's where a lot of info/updates will be, in addition to, of course, the USCL site itself!

@Petrosianic, yes, the games will be viewable on both servers. the live commentary will only be on icc on mondays, and only on chess.com on wednesdays.
