Cutthroats admin vacancies

Submitted by polleke on Wed, 11/25/2009 at 9:27am.

Dear all,

recently I found out that this group did not have an admin anymore since easyb no longer is a member on this site. I have asked chess.com staff to give me the admin rights for the moment, and Kohai has been so kind to give me those. So it is now time to install a new "government". Until we have one, I will be happy to be admin until we have new volunteers on board.

So, if you'd like to be an admin or super admin of this group, please let me know and most likely you've got yourself a job!

Since it has been quiet in the group, in the meanwhile I will try to start up a few team matches shortly,

kind regards,

Paul

Congratulations polleke - I had the same experience with the 1.e4 d5 Scandinavian Defense group. I went there to sign up on a vote game and there was no admin. So I contacted chess.com and became the super.

My special interest is vote chess. I feel it is an excellent venue for beginners and low rated players to rub shoulders with the higher rated and advanced players for the purpose of a learning experience. It would be my pleasure to manage the vote games for the Cutthroats. I already manage vote games for a few other groups and have found a good method is to start a new game when the most recent game completes 10 moves. That way we always have a game in the opening stages which has the potential to accommodate the favorite variations of the various members. This usually results in 3 - 4 games running concurrently which is not likely to become burdensome for team members. I also believe the group should confine itself to playing the Caro (or against it) and this can be accomplished with the presets and open seeks. I would appreciate your consideration of me for vote chess admin. Thank you - wormrose
