Everton / Chelsea

With Chelsea having given a beating to Liverpool City.  Everton will be ready for this match with Chelsea.  Beating Chelsea would show up Liverpool, as in "We beat them and you didn't", as well as Everton beating a front runner in the Premier League.  A double win.

That's my take.  Everton should be ready for this one for that reason.  The flip side is Chelsea obviously wants to send Everton a message before the FA Cup final.

I won't say which team will win this (Everton) (Everton) but Everton has a good chance here.  They must test Chelsea's defense (with Jo back in the line up).

Well that's it.  Jo was out of the line up against Man Utd.  Something about not playing in cup games.  In which case he won't be in the next one.  It's ok. They could trade Jo for three young players with potential and come out ahead.  Tim Cahill had two very good chances and did not score against Chelsea either.  I want to see someone streak down field like Billy Bingham used to do for Everton.  He looked like Bobby Hull (of the Chicago Blackhawks) without skates.  Like in North American ice hockey Billy would punch opponents for their dirty play.  He didn't book anybody for tripping him or pulling his jersey.  Speed is a threat in itself.  I would rather sign a world class 220 meter runner and teach him more advanced elements of the game than have a dozen players who can't get up field.  He would just need to handle long kicks on the fly.  If he got a goal by accident Everton would win 1-0.  No matter what the sport, to me it is all about speed and determination.  Speed is key.

Everton rested key players and still managed a great draw against what will be a very close line up to the Chelsea team which will start in the FA Cup final on the 30th May. I still have my reservations about Jo, on three occassions he had the opportunity to score ( on his strongest side, Left) and fluffed everyone of them. Thats not the prolific goalscorer Man City paid £21,000,000 for.

I would have given James Vaughan a run out who is hungry for success and at this fixture last year gave John Terry  the run around something silly. Rodwell is a great distributor of the ball and I feel he had more to offer in the centre of the park than Castillo, whose name I heard mentioned on very few occassions.

As for Drogba, he spends more time nursing knocks than he does on the pitch, surprising given the fact he is over 6ft and strong as an Ox.

Lets hope we carry tonights performance into the FA Cup Final and draw some strength from it ;o)

 C'mon the Blue Boys!!!
