freedom is from the King of kings!!!

"God's Will Is Freedom"

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
(2 Corinthians3:17)

Freedom... If we could put the will of God into one word, that would be the word. God wants us to be free. Free from sin, sickness, poverty, oppression and every other curse.

That freedom is what Jesus came to provide. He said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor...to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:18). That's what He trained His disciples to do. And if you're a born-again believer, that's what He wants you to do too!

Some people say, "Well, I don't know about that. That may not be God's will for today."

But listen, the Bible says God never changes. He hasn't changed His will for the earth. He doesn't do one thing awhile and then go do another thing awhile. Jesus' life was a perfect picture of God's will 2,000 years ago-- and it still is! That's why He left instructions for us to go and do the works that He did. That's why He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to do them.

Jesus still wants to do the will of the Father here on earth--but He does it through us. He has to work with us until we're willing to lay down our traditions and let Him do His thing. That's what the early Church did. They started out with a bang because they did as Jesus taught them. Everywhere they went people became free.

Let's pray for the Church of today, our family, work and every endeavor, the chess.com people, the King of kings team to deliver the freedom of God to the world. Let's quit questioning the will of God and start carrying it out instead. He said the works that He did we would do also and even greater works (John 14:12). It's time for us to take up where Jesus left off and set the captives free!

We can do it only through Jesus...

Freedom ... from the deceptions of the wicked one ... is God's will for mankind.

Let us run to the LIGHT ... and stay in the LIGHT OF THE WORLD - OUR KING OF KINGS ... and be a bearer of the LIGHT ... to each one's darkness.

Excellent message. God's will is simple but not easy.  My prayer is to know God's will for Me and the power and the power to carry it out.  It is only through our personal relationship with Him can we be fruitful in this life and have true freedom in the next. after all "you can not give away a dollar if you do not have fifty cents".

God Bless,

yup, it would not be gone(sickness, poverty...),  but the Words of Jesus is faithful through the HolySpirit. the freedom to guide us, to be with us... in blessings, in sickness and in health, in troubles...in storms and stillness... That is our difference from the rest... We have the freedom, the wisdom promised through the Holy Spirit...

I am a bit confused as to your thesis.  Is it about freedom because God wills it and we should, therefore, have no sin, sickness, poverty, etc?  God's will is immutable (Heb 6:17-18).  When we come to the cross and believe and start bearing fruit as the Holy Spirit and the Word transform us (2 Cor 5:17), we are carrying out God's will.  When Peter preached at pentecost, he clearly states that "...this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, ...." leaves no wiggle room for speculation.  The Lord's Model Prayer in Mt 6 again states ...thy will be done on earth AS IT IS in heaven...."  Proverbs 16:9 grants us insight the we make our plans, but God directs our steps.  Jesus Himself stated that the poor will be with you always.  Sin's power can be lessened as we yield to the Father, but its curse is part of our very nature and will live with us until glory.  Consider 2 Cor 7 where Paul argues with himself over the power of sin and how it frustrates him.

Do not be quick to think unbiblically that sickness is gone forever or social injustices are stamped out for that is not the purpose of God's will.  The will of God is that we would come to the knowledge and faith in His only Son.  Moreover, he wills that we follow his commandments; he wills that we work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12-13).  God's will is that our days are numbered and we must be careful how we use our time (Eph 5:15; Ps 31:15a; 139:16).

Your note in your profile states to embrace suffering.  That is exactly what my wife does with her painful disability.  Phil 3:10 is a two part promise.  Read it and apply it.

Setting captives free is the work of the Spirit through the gospel.  1 Cor 3 explains the process -- one plants a seed, another waters, and God grants the increase.  We are the patient farmers who either plant, cultivate, or water the seed of the gospel through teaching/preaching/lifestyle/prayer/or any other communication method that glorifies God and not man.

The will of God is to save his people from their sins and bring them to glory.  Read Romas 8:29-34 and note the tenses as past; note the 4 "who" questions and how each is answered.  That is what the will of God is.  Amen and Peace.  Bob
