    If Kxf7 then Qh5+ is unpleasant. I don't see an immediate KO but White gets many checks with unpredictable results especially in a relatively short time control.

    It's a very common defensive trick to try to use an enemy pawn as a temporary shield to protect one's king and here there's no annoying check to calculate.

    @ jesterville - thanks, but please don't post copyrighted content from other websites.

    Feller has been found guilty of cheating (but he denies it and is appealing the decision), but he wasn't caught "red handed with his ongoing game in the washroom on his phone". That was Christoph Natsidis (Chessbase report here)

    Time will tell if he's any good. He won't be able to use his phone during games anymore now that everyone is eyeing him closely. To say that text message are covered by secrery laws is an admission in my opinion. If he has nothing to hide, he could just show all the text messages history.

    just as I saw the headline about French Champ, one thing rang in my mine" The  Olympiad issue, where a French player was accused of cheating by his own country man!"   Its rear that cheating is reported in most chess tournaments around the world,  atleast not at high level!

    Any win by a French chess player might be dubiuos, check that out!!!!!

    @ jesterville - no, that wasn't Feller.

    ...yes, Feller was caught red handed with his ongoing game in the washroom on his phone...

    I don't think he was. Where did you get this info from ? I think you may confuse his case with another.

    ...yes, Feller was caught red handed with his ongoing game in the washroom on his phone...yet he is still playing like nothing ever happened...proof that chess organizers do not really care about integrity in the game...an ongoing black-eye for chess...and the French in particular...

    Yes, it's a strange situation, although it's worth noting that Feller continues to completely deny the accusations.

       Keep an eye on Feller! I noticed that earlier when I was looking around the 'net that he is still playing even in the midst of the Olympiad controversy. Who says ch****rs never win?  {#emotions_dlg.undecided}
