This is a newly formed group and I would love to have a few people help me build it.
Any new ideas would be greatly apperciated. I look forward to playing chess while at the same time schooling people in the way of liberty.

Sounds good! Er, what's the plan? Can we challenge some other team? I need to complete a couple of games before I get a rating. I'm on holiday away from internet access next week (how will I survive?), but back after that. If I can help in any way then, please let me know.
Cheers

Hey, I haven't been around but things have calmed down a bit in my personal life that I am able to spend more time playing chess.
Let's make something out of this group.
It seems that I have arrived late. Is this group still functioning?

well, competing teams may or may not want to talk about politics. i certainly wouldn't want to argue with the stalinists. no point in talking to people who have fundamentally different views on life from you about that which you differ. i think playing any "American" team would give us exposure to people who might already have some idea about the political philosophy. somebody might be interested and sign up. once we capture the interested we can talk politics over here. the point of matches, other than chess, is to give exposure to the group.
i can get people to sign up, i just need the ability to formally recruit them.

I'm in for group games. Any team in particular you think would be open to political discussion on the side of the game?
team matches are key to building this, b/c it would bring exposure to the team to people who are not aware of it. we would need about 10 active people to start matches i think.
also, maybe a more in depth explanation on the group description would help people identify with the group. people who share libertarian philosophy come from a wide range of backgrounds. they may share the belief, but not know the name for it. anybody w/a political bent is inclined to talk alot about it w/ anyone who will listen, so forums to discuss specific issues would also be helpful at some point.
recruiting 1st, then it will snowball.
I don't want to deconstruct the social order, just the idea that we need a big, powerful government to save us from ourselves.
i just like the irony of having a group for deconstructing the social order
Thanks for allowing anybody, i.e. me, in. I have no identifiable chess skills, but I can talk social and economic liberty all day long. Look forward to working with you all.
Definitely..
What got you into libertarianism?
