First, my sincerest apologies for having been away so long. I expected to get back Monday, however complications with my internet kept me from being on long enough to create a post here. Thankfully, things have been sorted out, and so I'm back.
Next, on to what this group is about. This group is here to help everyone get better at chess, no matter their rating. In my opinion, the best way to improve is to analyze one's own games. I'll post a thread where you guys can either post games or links to games so that I can help you guys look through them. Initially I'd like to have no more than 1 game per week per person, but I'm hoping that the time commitment won't be too big.
We can also have Vote Chess games where you guys can see how people like myself think, and intergroup tournaments for prestige.
Any time I'm in live chess, feel free to send me a chat request. This group is what you guys make of it, and I believe the more you use it, the more you will improve. Also, you can always message me and I'll get back to you whenever I can.
Quick review of what I can and can't do for you:
- I can help you with analysis of your games.
- I can help you put together an opening repertoire you're comfortable with.
- I can help you get familiar with important endgame positions to know.
- I can't magically make you better at chess. Improvement takes time, and often has sudden bursts followed by long plateaus.
- I can't help you in any ongoing games. It's against the rules, and what's the point of cheating anyway?
Last, good luck to each of you.
