World champion Vishy Anand climbs back to #4 in the world after some improved form in recent tournaments.

Sergey Karjakin's memorable victory in the Norway Chess tournament pushes him up 3 places to #7, while Peter Svidler's poor form since his excellent showing in the Candidates tournament drops him out of the top 10 at #11.

    Wow, surprised I invoked so many negative responses. @FilipinoChess- I'm sorry I'm bad I'm only 14. Don't hate me for it. @DESTROYER- well the name confusing with all the one consonant-one vowel combos. I always end up saying Hinakarmu or something like that. @7Beaufeet7- thank you, but I have to admit that I use "anyways" all the time. @twobit- It's not that I don't like him. I always root for him as a fellow American and stuff like that. But his recent tournament finishes show that his rating is too high.

    Hope I responded to all. Sorry for miscommunication.

    Why is Nakamura disliked by so many? I feel we should respect all these guys for what they have achieved.

    Wow!  Nakamura is up to the fifth spot.  Congratulations Hikaru!

    DESTROYER8

    Fakename, you show no respect to Hikaru Nakamura and if you can't respect his strength adn determination that put him to 5th, then there is no point for you to play chess as you're obviously not going to show that persistence.

    Anyways, if you can't say his name, you're stupid. And, congrats to all top 10, but it's still sad to see Radjabov

    In norway, only about 2400 adults are member of a chess club, and one of them is the world number one Magnus Carlsen!

    It's been a long while since an (almost) 60-year old person was in the top-100!  Welcome back to the legend Alexander Beliavsky, formerly from USSR and more recently representing Slovenia.

    @fakename6, with your paltry 1200+ rating you cannot yet comment on a super GMs strength. Raise it up to maybe 1900+ and I will listen to you with interest.Smile

    Notice on the overall list there is only 12 points separating #4 Anand @ 2786 and #9 Caruana @ 2774.

    There are only two more points separating #2 Aronian 2813 from #10 Morozevich 2760 than # 1 Carlsen 2864 and Aronian.

    Think about it.

    @deepmac,

    Although we all understand and sympathize with what has happened in Belize, there is absolutely no relevance to this thread. In addition, the authorities can attempt to prosecute all they want. It will not reverse the damage done.

    Congratulations Mr. Carlsen. You are now the target.

    Absolutely excellent...
