Nice to see Shirov win a tournament.  However, considering the competition he should have won.

Gabovits is only 16 and is on the rating list less than 6 moths. He only played 15 rated games so far. His score could be result of luck, good physical condition, his opponents could underestimate the boy, or it might be a combination of all those. Or he might just made rapid improvement in his play that hadn't had time to show on rating list. Remember this is not classic chess but 15 minutes rapid. We will have to wait and see his future perfomances.

I think that Fedoseev made much better performance: first, he tied for 1st place in qualifications, and then again tied for 1st  with Shirov (who didn't play qualifications and was fresh for the finals).

@ frankoMontreal - (and anyone else), correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tal make a similar statement?

I have always liked Shirov. An anecdote about him I once heard was his reaction to being told that several of his pieces were being attacked and risked being captured: That's okay; my opponent can only take them one at a time.
