I'm using Android 2.3.4 on a Samsung Galaxy S.

But i encountered much less disconnections in my subsequent tries, so maybe the problem was on my side (?).

Just a thought - I often run out of memory - the Wildfire seems particularly prone to this.  It means mail doesn't resync etc.  Just wondered if that could be a factor?

I'll try & free up some memory & let you know if that helps.

chrish, could you please specify what version of Android platform do you use?

Force close every time I try to go to a game. Uninstalled & have gone back to marketplace app. Please remind me how to get a memory dump for you.

Also at first look doesn't seem a design improvement to me but that's all subjective I suppose. Definitely preferred the green notification icon.

On ICS, once I'm finished playing, go to another app, then try and return, I get repeated app has stopped messages. Only way to get it back is to power cycle phone.

80% of our brain is devoted to processing sensory input. 30% is devoted to visual processing alone.

I do not understand this new fascination with shades of grey. It's even visible in Unity on Linux (the fancy replacement for gnome and kde), and Chess.com's app has gone from green to grey.

Everytime I see it I sigh.

The new menu design and game board interfaces are nice. Do not understand at all the lack of color.

Is this can be installed on android pad?

For ICS, the go to next available game option is not honored in online games; it always returns to game list. Great job on new app.

Nice work, the new interface is now the same as the iphone app's isn't it ?

Some drawbacks I noticed, though :

- several connection losses while playing 3 min live games, and it takes some time to recover it so the game is lost

- in live game there is no message when the game is over, it would be helpful

- as Sockmonkey said i miss the green bar in analysis mode

- for a new live game request, the app doesn't remember the previous state of the "rated" checkbox

wow congrats chess.com android team for the good layout.
I encountered some app forced closed when applying some commands that requires internet connection. 

By the way heres some screenshots. 

Oh, wow. Nice new interface. I opened an online game, my board preferences were not respected until I set them again (although the previous settings were preserved -- my board was set to 'blue', but I was seeing wood).

The new button bar below the online chess board is nice. However, pressing the forward and back arrows rapidly caused something to break. The pieces no longer move, but the active square indicator does. I can't move forward anymore, just backward, and a king has been captured. Something got screwed, but now I can't reproduce it.

Analysis mode button is nice, but I liked the old color header which made it really obvious that you're in analysis mode. Maybe an orange ribbon to match the new color scheme?

Very nice so far (except for the above)!

What's new, what should we test?

It installed (even without uninstalling first) ... 
I played, and won, a game of live chess....

It looks promissing!
