New book on the Budapest Gambit

Submitted by polleke on Sun, 06/28/2009 at 1:16am.

Great news from the book front. Last year Budapest Gambit fans were spoiled by Viktor Mosalenko's enjoyable book on this opening, this year we'll get another treat. In September, Everyman chess is planning to publish a Budapest Gambit book written by Timoty Taylor. I've got his book on the Bird opening, and Taylor writes really well. He for instance illustrates his lines with many diagrams, and doesn't mind illustrating games with history and background information. Can't wait till the thing gets published!

Thanks. I will be sure to check it out.

I am currently using ChessBase published Budapest Gambit by D.Oleinikov. I find it a very instructive introduction.

His book is called "The Fabulous Budapest Gambit - Much more than just a sharp surprise weapon". I have the book in front of me as we speak and it is really wonderful. If you can afford it, I would order it Laughing. It was released by New In Chess, a dutch publisher, but I am sure that you can order it from a company on your part of the globe as well!
