Half a point behind his Grandmaster opponent in the last round, and with the black pieces, he went all out to create a sharp positional struggle that would give him chances to win the tournament. The game is full of deep ideas, surprising moves, excellent technique, a wealth of valuable insights, and a particular focus on the Exchange Sacrifice, a familiar weapon to Khachiyan as a pupil of the Tigran Petrosian School.
