Here at Chess.com/TV,

we are proud to offer

premium-quality programming

that is sure to keep you

educated, informed and

entertained.

Since the inception of Chess.com/TV programming, when David Pruess broadcast his first show, Chess.com/TV has continued to grow. Along with our regular programming, a lot of Special Programming will continue to be broadcasted. Our monthly Death Matches are enormously popular and exciting, along with the Blindfold Simuls and seasonal programming such as the Candidates Tournament and the USCL competition.

We suggest you check our schedule listed below, or on the Chess.com/TV page to keep up-to-date with changes to the schedule. You also have the opportunity to view at your leisure through the “On-Demand” option. (Be sure to read Danny's post on our TWO channels and when you can view particular shows saved in the two SEPARATE libraries!)

Basic or Gold Members have limited access to broadcasts specifically set up for ALL members to view; these shows are indicated within the monthly schedule and due to the addition of a free channel, more shows have been open to ALL members! ONLY Platinum and Diamond Members have full access to all Chess.com/TV broadcasts and features, enabling them to see all shows and can access both Video Libraries of previous broadcasts. Not a Platinum or Diamond Member? Upgrade now and don’t miss out! Simply LEFT-click on the icon below to access the “Membership” page.

It looks like Judit Polar is going to be on a show March 31st.  That's Big!Smile

@Traepoint: All of the shows save once they're completed. Just look in the VIDEOS section on the TV page and the most recent one should be on top. You can watch it whenever you want. We call it the "On-Demand" section in the group but it's the VIDEOS tab on the Chess.com/TV page.  Smile

Is there anyway to get some of these programs recorded so premium members can watch later?  Alot of these happen while im at work and I would love to be able to watch them.

Sure, I guess we have explored the topic sufficiently at least to know what each other is saying :-)

Ah, I agree that it would be nice if we could be that specific, but things would have to be highlighted or something, and then UN-highlighted eacht time something new was added. It's just not feasible :(

As you can see, I use color-coding in here to keep the whole schedule easy to read. Formatting stuff like this in these forums can be very glitchy and can give me trouble already. Playing with that will only cause problems. On the Chess.com TV channel itself, I just recently did what was in my power to make it easier to read in comparison to the way it was. There are very limited formatting options on that page. It's not possible to highlight the additional updates as they come in :( I'm also not sure Chess.com would be open to having a link off-site to something like a google.doc.

Sorry :( But thank you for taking the time to make suggestions! If it was something that could've worked, how great would that be, right? :)

Right, exactly right. Except I can't tell what changes are happening. I need to always scan the list and try to remember... If each show was its own event and you wanted to follow or share it, then it'd be more clear. On the other hand we all are grateful for your effort and the tremendous value of this service as it is today. So please don't think I am complaining. I'm just suggesting :-)

OK, hreedwork, now you're confusing me lol

What you're describing is what we already have :) You suggest an "Events" category with "Chess.com/TV" which has a "report" of all the TV events. That's what we already have lol

Instead of "Events," you go to the "MORE" link on the toolbar and in the dropdown we have "Chess.com TV;" it's already there and when you click on that link, you are brought to the page that has the TV listings---all of them that are scheduled so far---and this page here that we're on right now is simply a copy of the same information. Only now it seems that any time I update this schedule, all the members are notified that there's been an update of some kind. You really can't get more convenient than that :)

All you have to do is look at the schedule, regardless of whether it's here or on the Chess.com/TV channel, and you can see which shows fit into yours or your friends' schedules.

I hope this makes it clearer :)

I understand the "extra work" angle, and wouldn't wish that on you. You do a great job as it is. You are right that when a TV event is broadcasting, there is a banner, and that is pretty easy to point out/share.

The point I was getting at is that some people need to schedule their time in advance in order to be able to log in and watch it, even if it is prominently displayed on the banner after logging in.

The only thing I can think of is if... chess.com could add a category to "Events" called "Chess.com TV", then perhaps:

    1. You could still type in the data once, into events instead of this post.
    2. In posts, you can give people a link to the report of all Chess.com TV Events
    3. Then... people like me could find a particular one that could be of interest to a friend, and before the broadcast date/time, share it with said friend, who can then schedule time to watch it.

But, more than likely this is a "bridge too far" as they say. Thanks for discussing the idea in any case.

    RookedOnChess

Ah, hreedwork, now I get it. That would be a LOT more work for me though, and it's already a project as it is. It's definitely a good suggestion, but don't think it's necessary. Here's why:

The schedule (listed both here and on the Chess.com TV page) simply lists when the shows are, just like any other TV listings. On actual show days, the banner (which is the link to the show) goes up on the front page (upper right hand corner), so you would only have to tell someone to go to the Chess.com home page and click on the banner OR go to the toolbar to "MORE">"Chess.com TV" :)

Also, the shows are always on the same "channel," so no matter when  you go to that channel, it will either be offline or whatever show is scheduled for that time would be on. There are no individual links---the link is always the same. It's just a matter of the viewer showing up.

    I hope that helps!

Mark, sorry I was ambiguous. What I meant was that if there was a way to share/forward/etc. an individual TV show, then it would be easier to direct someone to join you in watching a particular broadcast. That's all. Maybe if the chess.com TV schedule was also in a Google calendar, then people could get to individual events that way, forward, share, etc.

    ChessMarkstheSpot

@hreedwork - I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by "package," but there is a share button and you can also direct them to the Chess.com/TV page where the schedule is listed.

Can we package the schedule above in a way that is easily sharable with other members? I was looking at death match and I instinctively looked for the "share" button, but alas it wasn't there...
