Rules of the seacows
NOW Their is gonna be some rules like the ones that
otto has for his Group
Rules
1. Forums and Notes
- We will not post bad language in the forums or group notes.
- Use the forum/notes to your advantage! If you need to ask a question, or just post something for fun (like a puzzle), do it! You may post anything you want to in the forums (even stuff that is not on a chess-related topic), as long as it isn't offensive. Just remember to stay on topic, and create a new thread if you want to discuss something new.
- ADMINS: Invite people with the invite tool. DO NOT INVITE PEOPLE THROUGH MESSAGES OR NOTES!
- WARNING: BLACK RULE! Immediate ban for violation - NO PLAGIARISM OF COPYRIGHTED WORK ALLOWED without giving credit to the original work, such as in a citation (Just the first part of an MLA citation is all that is needed, not the whole thing) of the work. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- 2. Team Matches
- Please do not make too many match seeks at once that are within the same rating division. This will cause less attention to go to each one. You can use your judgement on how many matches made at once is too many.
- Be careful not to set up team matches with a rating division that we have very few players in. This causes unfair balances, which can lead to us losing games.
- Put in your best effort for your match games. Don't just resign for no reason. Even if we lose 187 team matches, it is still a success on our part if we put our best effort into them.
- Use rating divisions to your advantage! We don't want to be pairing 1000-rated players with 3000-rated players!
- No offensive language allowed in the names of the matches.
- Use your best judgement to set the matches up to our advantage!
-
3. Vote Chess
- These vote chess game settings are not allowed:
1. Any games lower than 1 day per move. I recommend 2 or more days per move.
2. Games with offensive names.
3. Direct challenges to groups with super-high rated players. Note: If there is a good mix of ratings, it is okay, just no groups that have only highly rated players.
- Please try your best to come up with a good vote. Never purposely vote a blunder or to resign when we still have hope of winning.
- I highly recommend making two vote chess seeks at once, one with us playing white, and one with us playing black. Remember that it is good to get practice playing either color!
- Please, everybody participate in our vote chess games. We need as much participation as we can get!
- Blunder catching. If you see a blunder in the popular or next-to-popular vote, don't just leave it - tell others! Do everything you can to prove to others that it is a blunder. This has happened once, and we did turn things around before it was too late!
- If A member of the group tells you not to vote yet, please do not vote. Check back in a few hours. If there are no comments yet, PLEASE post your vote in the comments. I may also tell you not to vote in the comments until Nicetoall or another highly rated player posts a possible move.
- ADMINS: No more than 50 vote chess games at once will be allowed in this group.
- Please do not vote for any type of Rook's Pawn Opening.
4. Group Name and Settings
- Discuss ways to improve our group in the forum! I already have a thread open, so I will delete any other threads created to discuss group improvements.
- Don't change anything without posting it in the forum, and sending a message to me first.
- Don't change the name. I am already having us vote on better names.
- Don't change the country. We are international.
- WARNING: Black Rule! Abuse of power as an admin or a super admin is not allowed in this group and can get you banned immediately. Abuse of power as an admin can include banning a member for no reason, enforcing rules incorrectly, or starting vote chess games with a 10 minute time limit.
