I saw that line, and it looked good, until I noticed that blacks 3rd move could be knight to d6. ;)

Your right, that is what should be done in puzzle 2.  It does lead to mate anyway so it is right now

I'm starting to think that #2 isn't mate in 3 at all. Anyway, I've spent enough time trying to solve that one. Thanks for posting these for us.

What you have for #2 isn't correct right now. Black should respond to whites first move with Kn x d4, not Kn x d8. I'm trying to solve this from scratch now.

I am still not 100% that the solution for number two is correct

What about in puzzle 2, what happens when white king xc6 instead of a6?  The puzzle says mate in three but I dont see any quick mate when the king kills that pawn.  Oh wait I think I just fixed it.

In puzzle #3 white's third move is incorrect. Instead of responding with Kd4, black could choose to take the white bishop via Rxe6, which slows down the inevitable mate. If on white's 3rd turn he instead moves Rc5, this gives a double check that forces the black king to move to d4, where he is immediately mated by pawn to e3.

not multiple solutions but alternate lines, and then you choose which one to be the main line.

Yes I am very glad you noticed that in the third puzzle, bonus points for you.  I found these puzzles, pictures only, on the University of Minnesota chess club website.  I can only assume these are the solutions, but they seem legit.  Notice anything about the second puzzle?

I've never made one of these, are you allowed to set it up to allow multiple solutions?

In the 3rd puzzle after 3... Kc4 the Rook can move anywhere on the 5th rank w the same effect, I think. lol.

Thanks for these!
