Republic of Newfoundland

Hi folks, time to check in with you all.  This team doesn't seem to be doing much; is there no real interest there at all?  When I founded this team, at the request of some of you, I made it clear that I would have very little time to devote to it, and that I expected someone else to step up and take over.  That is still my expectation.

I will do all I can to assist and guide whoever is willing to take over, but if no one does, things will probably just fade away.  So I leave it up to you.  Do you want this team to become something to be proud of, or does nobody really care?

Your thoughts please.  Jenn

I have a diamond membership now, if no one else has objections you should be able to transfer it to me now

Whatever works.  I just want to see somebody put in the time with this and truly, I don't have the time.

Yeah, that is true.  But I think that, say, I get the membership and it's transferred to me, even if my membership stops I still have admin powers.  That's what happened with the other group I admined anyway when I did have a membership.

Twan, I would be happy to help and advise until you feel comfortable in the driver's seat.  Under the new rules of chess.com an admin must have a paid membership, but they're pretty cheap.

I would be interested in doing this.  I haven't been playing in as many team matches as I used to, mostly because I'm trying to cut down on my overall amount of games, but I intend to become more active in those matches in the near future.  I frequent chess.com pretty regularly (it's almost always open in a tab on my laptop!) so I would be able to devote the time to it.  I have a fair idea of how to go about creating and accepting team matches because I was the admin of another group, which was about the same size as this group.

I don't intend on letting this group just fade away.  Newfoundland chess is indeed not as active as chess in other regions, but I would hope to change that.

I would like to thank Jen for starting the group "Republic of Newfoundland".  It is a nice little group.  Is there anyone who would like to take over the admin of the group?
