Hi again, and so soon!
Dietmar pointed out to me that we only had one player in the rating range for the team match I accepted, so I canceled the game and issued a new challenge against them for players in the 1000 - 2000 range.

We are in Bartlesville, with is about 40 miles North and slightly East of Tulsa (NE corner of Oklahoma). Really terrible location for finding any good chess activity :(

Teary_Oberon,
In Oklahoma City, The Challengers play chess at the Barnes & Nobles stores on May & Memorial and May (between 50th & 63rd) on Monday and Wednesday evenings. I haven't been in quite a long while, so I can't remember which evening is which store. I don't know where you live in the state, so I don't know if this is helpful to you or not.
OTB activity in Oklahoma? Other than the scholastic circuit, I don't see or here of very much around.
I know that there was a rather obscure chess club that met in Bartlesville's (NE Oklahoma) Tech Center every Thursday, but I do not know if it is still 'in existence' or not :(

How does this work now??
The first time around, it can be a bit tricky. After the second challenge, it is not too bad. Especially, as a new group you have to be a bit careful whom you pick. Typically you want a similar sized opponent and limiting the # of players. One choice is whether you want to play both games at the same time or finish one first before the second starts (concurrent versus consecutive). Autostart is a great feature when matching up against much bigger groups.
I hope the rest of the group gives Michael a big cheer and helps him along (a virtual beer trophy would be nice ) . If you have info for Over-the-board activity in your local area post it here. It would also be cool if someone else also steps forward to assist with admin tasks. I have seen too many groups disappear because the only admin went awol. Once that happens the team is doomed as there is no one that can make a regular member admin.
