Team match update April 28th

We are tied in our matches against The Dream Team for 1500-1899 and 1900+ ratings. Losing the -1499 match due to time-outs.

Therefore I propose that members that time out in team matches, should be banned from participating in team matches in the future.

We have just challenged Chess Warriors, so those games should start soon; the same rating ranges.

Gambit Gang are overdue in starting a match, so they will either do so very soon or forfeit the games - which would put us at the top of our group in the TM League if they did forfeit.

...and bless them, Chelsea wouldn't play against us at all. Even though they were challenged to an auto start match with a ratings cap, which would make it a far more equal match up for their small team.

Good luck in your games:)

Well, there are certainly alot of people for banning players who time out. I would like to add my comment as well. If you are playing on line you should make the time to check your games every day at the same time. Checking my games first thing in the morning works great.

I do agree that there should not be any time outs if you plan accordingly. Set your schedule to check your games. Period. Is that too much to ask?

I think you are all on the right track with banning and then the possiblity of reinstatement. Do not for goodness sake make it a life sentence.

I agree that there may be circumstances that warrant people to time out, circumstances that may be deemed a crisis, and certainly things that are out of their control. In that case, they can ask to be reinstated.

The number of people timing out recently is shocking, particularly the sub 1500s. Therefore anybody timing out in team matches will be unable to participate in future team matches for the group. I honestly think that is fair, and it would be unfair to allow a few members to cause the team to lose a match because they do not move on time.

Timing out should not be accepted, nor excused because it is online. In genuinely difficult circumstances people are unable to play, but I suggest that the majority of time outs are not due to that. Lazy minds are behind a lot of them. Members with lazy minds are quite frankly not the kind of people I wish to be associated with in any way.
