Training

Hello, everyone.  I would like to ask if anyone here trains in martial arts or in another knightly skill.

I personally train in sword combat, and I believe I can use a sword very effectively.  I also know several self-defense techniques from Tai Chi, Samurai, Krav Maga, and Tae Kwon Do.  I train in chess, cross swords with my friends, and meditate.  However, my meditation is unique-I close my eyes, breathe deeply, and concentrate on my breath.  I attempt not to lose focus, but if I do, I simply return to the breath.  This develops my focus well.  I also read my Bible and go to church regularly.  I am a born again Christian as well.

I believe that the mind is the most important part of a martial artist or knight to train.  Chess is the golden standard of intellectual pursuit, so naturally I enjoy it.

I am also in 6th grade, so I feel very pleased with my training and intellectual pursuits.

Signed,

Ethan, Knight of 1776

I have just recently received training with my best friend who happens to be a 1st Degree Black Belt in American Freestyle Karate.  We sparred for a really long time, and it was great.  I thank God for him-he is amazing.

I train with the staff, however, I don't use styles or tactics.  I develop my own based on trial and subsequent error.  Other than that I enjoy any strategy game, and hope to soon go to college for a mission degree in community development (to read look up the Chalmers Center).  I'm currently in 12 grade and am home schooled.  I hope we can get this team rolling as soon as we acquire more members.  I'm also looking forward to others posting here.
