Unknown Bobby Fischer Photo

We were just digging through tons of archives, here in Chess Informant, and something interesting came out.

It is one unknown Bobby Fischer's photo, that was taken, according to notes at the back of the photo, in 1968. The place is Vinkovci, then Yugoslavia, now Croatia. The other evidence detail about the place is registration plate on the car VK=Vinkovci, back then. I have no idea who could be the man on the right side, walking together with Bobby. Any suggestions?

What was important to me as member of Chess Informant crew is that Bobby is holding bunch of Chess Informant books. Yep, the series started few years before, in 1966!

Finally, the legend lives on, if we are talking about Chess Informant, see www.chessinformant.rs. Robert Fischer, the greatest, is no longer with us. We will never forget him!

Here is the photo:

Mr. Fischer is the worst person to ever win a world championship.  The only champion he was able to beat was Spassky, he refused to participate in any more world championships because he accused them of being fixed.  He was a total ass during the 1972 series, Spassky should have just refused his attempts at changing the conditions of the match and then Fischer would have been exposed for being the whining loser that he always was.

Yes Mr. Fischer, that's right, the Mossad is looking for you, the Jews are trying to kill you, and the CIA is trying to turn the sons you don't have into flying dogs.  Seems like one or more of the above finally got you at the age of 64, 1 for each square of the chess board ;)

Fischer is exactly the type of person any chess player should aspire not to be.  He was so vile during the 1972 series, he made the Soviet Union look civilized by comparison.

Reading body language from the picture, I can say that the man was probably his host or someone who welcomed him; there are no signs that they were close friends then."

The figure behind Fischer is curious.  A child?  Fischer's daemon?

chasm you have no basis for what you just said, you have no idea how fischer and magnus would match up

Fischer was crazy, crazy good that is.  He is unscathed as a chess player, and Carlsen would have a hard time stalemating him.  Fischer's style of play is unlike any other, with how he manipulated his pieces so that they were spread across the board, but united in the sense that they defended each other.  RIP Fischer.

The man is probably his host ,and a friend ing. Anđelko Bilušić. He played that GM tournament ,his first after a year or so break. We should mentioned that Fischer stayed and played longer period in 1970. Again with mr Bilušić.

Using Google translate (with a couple of obvious errors) zikadobrosavov may have said something like...

"I have a tec who at the time was playing chess in Borovo, if it recognizes the man from the picture I will call you. It crossed my mind to search for a contact in a chess club in. Reading the body language from the picture, I can say that this man was probably his home or someone who greeted him, no sign that they were close friends then."

I believe Fischer finished first in the tournament by 3 points and then stopped playing for a couple of years. Can anyone translate what zikadobrosavov said?
