US Chess League

Hello everyone,

Somehow, our team was recruited into the US chess league, which means that we play team matches against other states to see who wins.  I have previously been the state's representative to this league, but I will soon have an increased workload, so the director of this league would like somebody else to take over the job.  This would involve team match set up, score reporting, inviting more members to the group, etc...   If anybody wants to apply for the job, send me a message and let me know.

Also, the  most recent team match, unless anyone needs a link.

I am admin for the US Chess League and also for Washington State. First I like to thank Wicksta85 for his work. Indeed, Season 2 just started and we have 21 states participating in two divisions. All Ohio actually has the most active members of all teams aside from having the most members. It is time that someone (or better a couple of folks) step up and volunteer for the little bit of work it takes to participate.

What does it take? When the pairings for a round are announced issue a challenge to the other team. Or if they are faster accept the challenge. That takes about 60seconds to complete. On the published locking date, lock the match. That takes about 20 seconds. Anything else beyond that just depends how much pride you have to compete in the league. Some admins actively try to encourage their members to sign up, others just do the minimum. Either way is fine. But it would be indeed a shame if the biggest US State team on Chess.com falls dormant. So please step up and contact Wicksta85 to make you admin and become member of the US Chess League group (http://www.chess.com/groups/home/us-team-chess-league) so you know when the rounds start and against whom. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
