welcome to the new members.  i'd really like to build this group a bit and play some team matches.  we have a good core going.  if anyone knows chess players in vegas, invite them.  or let me know, and i'll invite them.  chess.com doesn't seem to have a good way to search players by a specific location.

anyway, if we can get a few more, i'll get us a team match.

Howdy ilikeflags!

I drive for Checker Cab Company from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, hence I'm unable to play on weeknights, which is the primary reason I started playing here at chess.com.  I'm also in training for the 2009 Las Vegas Marathon that's on December 6th and I'm currently running about 55-60 miles per week.  I strive to keep the weekends free as that's the only time I can be with my wife who works opposite hours from me during the weekdays (we both have weekends off).  Any strong players at UMC lately?  I haven't played OTB in quite some time!!  Wonder if anyone there would even know me.

bruce, great to have you...  we should get you out to UMC on monday and thursday nights.  thursdays are rated game in 90 min.  monday is a bit of fun--10 or 15 games.

Howdy!  I also live in Las Vegas and have been a resident here since 1988 (born and raised in Lansing, Michigan).  I've recently started playing here at chess.com.  My USCF otb rating is 1955 and blitz rating around 2150.  I also find it odd we can't search players by specific location here as I was trying to see if my Vegas chess friends are here too.  I rarely play otb nowadays due to my driving a cab for 12-hour days AND I've been running and training for marathons, which is my current passion.  Nice idea of getting a team match.
