What is the Move Categorization Project?

I have a crazy idea :) I believe that every possible move in chess can be categorized into less than 300 "themes" or "memes" or "concepts". What do I mean by that? Things like:
Pawn move locking up the center
King move to safety
Bishop skewer
Rook moves to open file
Centralize queen
Basically, we can create a way to categorize every single move on the board! I know it sounds intense, but with enough people working on it, it might just happen.
Why is this interesting to me? Well, there are a lot of people who have tried to categorize POSITIONS. In fact, the $NAG codes do an awesome job of that (see http://scid.sourceforge.net/help/NAGs.html ). But understanding positions is one thing, understanding MOVES is another. You can totally understand a given position but still have no idea what to do :) For example, white has a better bishop, more space on the kingside, a safe king, and a material advantage of 1 pawn. So what is the best move? :) Normally a program will then tell you the best move in notation like "31. g6". But what does that move accomplish? Maybe it is "Kingside pawn storm". Maybe then black plays 31...h6 which is "Block kingside pawn structure". Get the idea?
Here's how it will work:
I'm going to create a News piece in this group called "Move Categorization" with some of my initial thoughts. From there people can comment on things I should add. If I feel that a contributor is doing a good job I will give them access to edit the initial story so we can keep building on it.
Questions? :)
