I have found that this opening is quite effective.  I have played against this Owen Deffence many times and unless the opponent makes a major mistake you will have a fight on your hands.  Not as bad as a lot of people think and can be very effective at times.

I play this almost all the time. i am still working out the kinks but I believe in its effectiveness.

All I know is, in 15 games using Owen defense, I have a record of 13 wins, and 2 draws so far. No losses.  Even though most of those have been against players rated lower, those stats work for me.
