    The problem for White is that Black can trap White's queen with ...Nc6.  Winning it or keeping it trapped is another matter.

    isn't white technically up by a point? 2pawns + rook=7 points vs knight+bish? I dont see how this is that bad for white. Plus black doens't have castling priveledges, blacks bishop and queen are pinned to each other....i like this opening. none of us are masters here, the stats are next to useless.

    Of all of the variations in 1. e4 e5 open games where White makes this Bxf7+ sacrifice, besides the Fried Liver Attack, this might be one of the soundest.  Interestingly Game Explorer here on chess.com does not list a single game beginning with the following, critical variation:
