    This game is a good surprise weapon to throw black off the beaten trail.  It is not trash as some think nor a solid main line for tournament play either.

    but then they could just move the f8 or whatever pawn i'm trying to show and threaten the bishop and then blacks up on the tempo or whatever it's called

    This opening is useful on lower level players only. This is because anybody with any experince can find many ways around this. Like, playing e3 or Qd3.

    Seems rather weak for white.  You end up in a similar situation as in the Pirc except white has a lot less pressure and black can easily play c5 to free himself.
