d4 d5 nf3 is how i like to start from d4 but i diaspere into the colle system of a variation of it just a game am used to but trying to break the habit as it can be easy to mess up but it has a lot of postions im well used to and come out well with the games exchanges , now though starting opening with the nf3 instead of d4 and practicing reti into english and other types arising from nf3 great for learning and building a broader base of understanding blacks counters

When I start with d4 I usually do the queen's gambit.

"if black plays Bg4 he can take the knight and weaken white's kingside pawn structure ?"

No, because 2...Bg4 3. Ne5 and the pawn structure is just fine. The database likes it very much!

Curiously, I just started using this opening out of the blue.  I had no idea it actually had a proper name.  For some reason, I wanted to try Queen's pawn openings (partly because of my own inability to defend against it as Black), and Nf3 just seemed like the most natural followup.  Well, I guess I'm glad to have a title!
