Just completed a 5,000 mile (8,000 KM) round trip from West Virginia to the Grand Canyon in Arizona.  We departed West Virginia going through Virginia, Tennesse, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and finally Arizona.Spend a week exploring the Grand Canyon.  Saw plenty of wild life, the California Condor for one, see picture.  Meet people from all around the world, England, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain and other European countries as well, and Asia countries, such as Japan, Korea, China to name a few. Hiked all over the Canyon rim trails to include the Bright Angel trail and Cedar Ridge Trail which takes you down into the canyon.  Would recommend this as a must see trip for anyone who has the opportunity.  This was my first opportunity, and I am currently planning a return trip for 2011, to include numerous hiking/camping expeditions to explore isolated areas.  Basically stayed on the South Rim this trip, but plan to see the North Rim, as well as travel to a local indian reservation and walk out over the Grand Canyon to see down thousands of feet below while standing on a glass floor.

Within a couple of months, plan on traveling north to see Nigagra Falls and see some of Canada as well.

Chasidah.... the "glass floor" is a platform (deck) that is secured upon the edge of the rim of Grand Canyon that you can stand on.... and it is made of clear see through material (I dont think its glass). While standing on it... you get the feeling of floating as you look past your feet to the Canyon floor thousands of feet below. Yes... it sounds scarry.

Billiebob... Im gealous. What an awesome trip.
