Chess Cartoons

Submitted by Dozy on Fri, 09/07/2007 at 6:03pm.

Rooty Hill web master Robert Ambalong wanted some cartoons for the web page so he threw together some images scrounged from the Web and asked me to supply captions.  Some of them are original, most were old jokes that I just turned out with new faces.

The Chess Genie who crops up in the cartoons represents Robert's original Chess Genie program which was designed to play through games on the Rooty Hill web site.  One of the early versions was later hijacked by a programmer who issued it under another name; it is currently being used to display chess games on blogs all around the globe (including even Susan Polgar's blog). But it was born at Rooty Hill and the version used there has been much improved over the wandering original.

If you'd like to visit the Rooty Hill Chess Club site it's at http://www.rootyhillchess.org
