Half a Sentry

I realised the other day that in December it will be just fifty years since I first saw the girl I was going to marry. And what a sight she was. Yuk! You'll see what I mean in the second photograph.

Lynne didn't see me that night. She was there with somebody else and it was to be a few months before I got to ask her out.

So, to mark the occasion, I thought I'd share a few pics with you.

Just had quick look at your web site. Great stuff -- and so much of it. I've bookmarked it and I'll be back to browse. Great pix of Alekhine although that one of him dead in his hotel was a bit sad. Helluva way for such a man to finish his life.

2 years ago!?! Better late than never right? Still, it really is quite a "back to the past" photo album you got.

Well, it does look that way but, in fact, the 50 comes up at the end of this month. We're taking a few weeks down at the beach to celebrate. But it is indeed a little over 52 years since we met. It was a longish engagement.
