2008IowaElementaryTeams

  The 2007-2008 Iowa Elementary Team Championships were held February 9th, 2008 at Jordan Creek Elementary School in West Des Moines. Congratulations to the K-3 champion Coolidge Elementary of Cedar Rapids coached by Lach Ross, K-6 co-champions Sawyer Elementary of Ames coached by Roger Gotschall and Coolidge Elementary of Cedar Rapids coached by Lach Ross. Individual champions were Akash Mitra, Jiahua Zhang, and DJ Pearson. Greg Schmidt won the parents & Friends section. The tournament was directed by Hank Anzis and Joe Stull and was attended by 134 players from 19 schools. You can find out more about the tournament at http://www.iowachess.org/news.asp?aid=154.
