My claim to fame. I was there at the World Chess Championships 1993. Kasparov v Short. Game 1

Back in 1993 when I was 26, I went to the first game of the WCC in London. I managed to pass myself off as a journalised because I had a half decent SLR Camera.

So I was on stage for five minutes with Kasparov and Short. Taking these pictures

I remember after the game I came out of the Savoy Hotel and saw Kasparov’s mother waiting outside. And as I left the car park the car in front of me was non-other than Kasparov. I was behind the car for about a mile. Before we went our own ways.

Nice photos.  It looks like you had a lot of competition from the media scrum!  It must have been great to be there and see Nigel take on Garry.  Thanks for sharing! Smile

Very very interesting, well done you for being there, capturing the moment, and having the passion. Well tried Nigel!
