Just thinking about my father in law. He's a former Marine as well. WWII vet. He's turning 90 this month. Not a lot of those guys left any more. He signed up the day after Pearl Harbor. A lot of the young men did that. Pretty amazing.

When I was in the honor guard, we'd sometimes talk about the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier. To be one of those few elite needs a lot of dedication and high morals. It would have been an honor to be one of them. I couldn't because I'm in the Air Force (only Army are allowed) and I don't think I have what it takes to be one.
