This is my first attempt at a turned chess set. I turned all the pieces on my lathe and power carved the knights using various bits and techniques. The knights were clearly the most challenging, and while I'm not 100% satisfied with the results it was a lot of fun. Now on to the purpleheart "black" side.

Thanks, I am reasonably happy with this, my first try.

This is simple and very inexpensive Poplar. The other side is going to be extremely challenging Purpleheart, one of the hardest woods in the world. Fun times ahead!

Thanks Tim. Hard, hard work, started the purpleheart side this afternoon, that's going to take twice as long, purpleheart is so hard..
