It use to be simple but chess.com changed it's format. You have two choices now in the event one does not work. If the upload bar does not work you may need to re-size the image or go to the other option and drag from the photo file and click upload.

Again I have no idea why they changed it around. Know you are not alone in the frustration of trying to figure it out. Took me for ever. Good luck should you try again.

Im actually an apparition...it was a very phantasmagorical experience trying to upload a photo of myself.  dont get it.
