Do you still use them? I gave a split cane rod away as it was rather stiff to use. I don't collect but wish that I had kept some of my fathers fishing gears.

idk whats the difference i dont know the names of all the equipment.

Well a rod has a reel, and a pole is always around 10 metres long so you just put it out instead of casting.

yeah i think it was like that im not so sure i guess it was a rod.

I doubt that a rod has to have a reel on it to function.

You have to do it on a boat.  It's not effective on the bank. But I prefer to have a rod anyway.

yeah i had to wind it out a lot just to get it from the shore to the center of the lake. i swung it pretty hard lol

The boat rod end, will take a great amount, the beachcasterwill also take a lot of weight too, but I am not sure because in the old days with split cane sea rods of that caliber they didn't put how much strain it can take on it. They might of said at the shop but that's a very long time ago because it's 65 years old now. My step dads mate had to fix it once though because when I casted with it once it snapped off at the furrle.

Peach juice all the way. Thanks to Mr. Fairclough for telling me about it !!!! Do you do long distance to keep your self fit ? Or sprint ?

by InoYamanaka - 8 months ago
Hidden Leaf Village International

long distance running i usually go around 8 miles.

by rich - 8 months ago
My Home United Kingdom
Member Since: Jul 2007
Member Points: 23110

Oh that's completely different ! Sprinting is actually meant to be the hardest, and the most dangerous according to the coaches. As I have also found out ! Because you're using all your power to go forwards were as in distance you can pace yourself.

by InoYamanaka - 8 months ago
Hidden Leaf Village International
Member Since: Apr 2009
Member Points: 3019

yeah sprinting wears out your energy quickest. if you tried to sprint full power 8 miles youd probly die. sprinting is like drag racing where as marathon running is more like nascar.

by rich - 8 months ago
My Home United Kingdom
Member Since: Jul 2007

It isn't possible. After 300m of pure sprinting you drop speed. Yeah, once I did 6 miles. But I don't like distance that much because I'm faster than most people at a short distance.

quick on the start eh?

by rich - 8 months ago

Yes, I am the fastest off the blocks at my club, but there are some people who are fast enough to catch me up after about 40 metres.

by InoYamanaka - 8 months ago
Hidden Leaf Village International

then you can beat them at 40m. back then everyone was faster than me at long runs but i always got the fast people on the 40m sprint.

remeber running at the speed of sound lol. instead of 400 metres youd sprint 400 miles. it would be almost impossible to watch that with you own eyes.
