My style changes depending on the game. As any great players should, to have a certain stye of play no matter the condition is predictible, and anyone who figures your "modus operandi" out, can easily find holes in your style if you play the same everytime, and holes equal a loss.. Simple and plain. So my style changes or evolves with each win OR loss, learn from both wins and losses. Adapt, adapting means greatness, don't lose the same way twice. But if I was forced to choose I guess my overall style of play is classified as Attacking, because I will see a hole or opening and exploit your mistakes and make you pay, and attack without regard for piece loss, hey offense is the best defense, but hey it's a gift and a curse.

I think the concept a that anyone under 2200  has a style of play is most silly and pretentious.

Even at highest levels, no one can force a style on another player.

"I've always believed that playing "conservative" "defensive" "drawish" chess is inherently inferior to playing the best move you can in any given situation"

I guess Petrosian was world champion for 6 years because his moves were inferior.

I guess the word that called out most to me is "dynamic"

I've always believed that playing "conservative" "defensive" "drawish" chess is inherently inferior to playing the best move you can in any given situation, if your playing style doesn't involve you making the moves that give you the best shot of winning, you should reevaluate your playing style. I typically place positional advantages in front of material ones; if you aren't on the offensive, you aren't winning.

All of them, the best games I play involve most if not all styles, used by both opponents.
