Semi-open leads to tactical as well as strategic situations.

I like semi open the best because it gives you control, but you can still attack and go for crazy checkmates.

semi open, then you have just about equal protection as you do attacks, leading to exchanges to manipulate...

closed, then you don't have to worry about attacks

i like open opening as I prefer dynamic games where I can develop my strategic thinking while enjoying the match.

It really depends on what side you are playing.

For white open, for black semi-open (IMO)

With white open, with black semi-closed-open-closed, depending on whites game.

White: e4 most of the time.

Black: d5 almost any game.

=> Open. Besides, they are so much fun, especially at bullet games.

I like semi-open games more than semi-closed ones.

I don't know really, I suppose the Trompowsky classes as semi open

I like playing both, when its open I try to get active bishops and strong pawn islands, when playing close, knights are very powerful and strong pawn structures are advantage, also, beginners like me trade material without analyzing if they win position or a piece from trade, never trade to just trade :)
