Uh... all of the above??
Seriously, learning this as an adult - can be frustrating to say the least. And I'm not trying to be funny - at different times and on different days, I struggle at all of them.

I suppose the timer doesn't help, I cannot help but to keep an intentive eye on the timer instead of conjouring a masterful-like sequence of moves.
Someone on live chess once told me, only play blitz once you have a half decent grasp of a few openings and have understood how sacrifices can help your positional play.

my weakest point is that i smoke a lot of weed and then play in the middle of the night after a party with a bottle of wisky :P
my other weak point is that i dont take other chessplayers seriusly and tent to make them mad when i let them wait the clock 2 win the game :D
I hate other players who keep on messing my profile with bad notes, if u won a game against me it's either the first of the above, witch is legal here in holland btw. The other reason i let u win is because u are so weak in chess that u cannot even get 2 c any of my skills yet :P lol peace out

Concentration, you can always count on a blunder or two if you play me :-(

Tactics. I do well for a while, but I tend to make too many blunders. I think my strongest point is the opening. I don't have a huge arsenal of opening yet, but I do learn them pretty quickly. I really need to watch out for those traps more. Sometimes I don't check the board thoroughly enough and I end up facepalming because of really, really, really stupid blunders.

playing over the internet, by far and away my biggest problem is distraction.

@ conn9:
Yeah! - why even bother with it. I mean, for now, you could start 'playing' again by just simply offering a draw on (or even before) move one, and let things go from there ...
And that's the way 'I' see it! ...

All of them. I'm useless at chess in general at the moment. I don't know a single opening, I don't really lookahead at all and if by some chance I do have the upper hand, it always somehow ends in a stalemate. But most of all I'm just too reckless. The thought is always in my mind of "Queen for a queen" or something similar. I guess the site will help me, but the sources seem limited without regular payment, and I don't want to pay yet as I don't have much money or excel at chess. I finish all of my exams in 8 days, so I'll focus a lot more on chess then, so does anyone have any tips?
