prize events only if its free subscriptions,or  t-shirts, not money, but i strongly prefer commented videos of games, perhaps chess.com games or others, the other things arent bad neither

if your opening explorer and game database was to contain all games ever played on chess.com you would have something extremely valuable to more then just members of chess.com, but to the whole chess playing community and chess analysis research.

please keep this open source and available to the public for as cheap as it costs to host it!

An openings explorer would be tops in my opinion.  Of course, some of the other things would be great too, but I think many of us would get the most bang out of that.  Better control of how to use the chess mentor time I paid for with my membership would be nice too, since in 3 months I have only got to use it for about 2 hours, and I paid all three months.  I know thats a different discussion but I know I am not alone.

I was stuck at a crossroads there, to many great things to vote for, I want them all.

Instructional chess videos sounds good, data base, live chess, it all sounds like chess heaven to me, bring it on.

I would like to download the pgn files from live games.

I wonder if there would be interest in Freestyle chess.  This is where it is legal to use your computer and any other resource you like.  Obviously you would then need separate ratings for live chess, turn based and freestyle.

I wish there was a chess variants selection, as I'd like FischerRandom next.

Definitely the game database/opening explorer for me. That alone would be more than enough for subscription, but the rest are wonderful too.

If you want instructional videos from chess masters go to chessvideos.tv

A "A comprehensive game database/openings explorer" would be awesome.

1.Live chess with better interface like an undo button, and a simpler table creating menu.

  2. Openings database explorer

      3. chess instructional videos.

Let's have some chess tournaments including Swiss and Round-Robins under various time controls.

I would love a chess.com chess engine that would do post-game analysis of games from my archive....

Apparently i'm too lazy to download and do it with my Chessmaster.

Imo, more robustness.

I voted "A comprehensive games database / openings explorer". Of course, I don't mean a replacement for Big Database 2008, but rather advanced search tools to answer questions about the games played on chess.com:

If I'm about to play Reb, I want to view a tree of opening lines he plays.

What R+P vs R endgames have been played here?

Alternatively, if you provided access to a PGN of all (rated) games played here, I could pop it into Chessbase and answer these questions myself.

Prizes increase the temptation to use analysis software.  I voted for instructional videos but a 2nd choice would be a searchable database of all the games played on the site, perhaps with statistics about each move (won/loss/draw & average rating of those who played it).

All the ideas are great! But having to chose one, I'd go for a comprehensive game database.

I was split between the idea for prizes and upgrading live features.  The team events and tournaments sparked my interest as well as the openings which were 3rd and 4th for me.

All of those are awesome ideas... I voted for prizes in tournaments, no other sites do that... that would REALLY put chess.com above and beyond reach.

All of them, of course! Wink  In terms of priorities, I'd put Live Chess first, but I voted for Instructional Chess Videos.

The six-ed option sounds good.
