I like the queen's look simply because it is the most powerful piece on the board.  I know that this is a favorite looking piece not a favorite piece vote, but after you have played chess for 59 years like I have you simply like look of the most powerful piece!

The knight is my first choice...bishops are good too....a good  bishop pair are menacing, like raptors.
