How about, Winning for a change?
what interests me is that almost no-one connects the opening to a winning game (or atleast doesn't like it).
i myself like the endgame :)
In my opinion, the most enjoyable thing in chess is tying a game when is in disadvantage.
I like quick openining knockouts.
Sometimes all three occur--a postiional struggle, followed by tactically gaining a small advantage, followed by a not-so-easy endgame. :)
Since my opening is pretty strong (in my standards) but my endgame is about as reliable as a 2 legged-chair, I prefer endgame wins.
Nothing like a killer mating attack to give you a rush.
There is never a choice in this survey that reflects my reasons or preferences for playing chess. What I find most enjoyable is playing complex, double-edged positions with lots of possibilities, win or lose. Keeps the attention focused and engages the mind fully. Great way to pass the time, and that's what it's really all about.

Winning a nice tactical game (39%)
Great poll!
lol winning for a change, definitely. As for the type of game, I dont particularly like all out tactical games but I love it when I get a nice position and then a cute tactic appears. So I guess positional, culminating in a pretty tactic would be my favourite. Hens' teeth though unfortunately!
How about coming from behind, engineering a victory when you could well have lost? That would have been my choice...
I definitely chose winning for a change. lol
Everything isn't about winning. Isn't it just great for even knowing how to play chess? What about the fact of just playing for fun. No mattern if you lose or win. >And no I'm not making one of those dumb speaches<
Early mates, like Legall's mate are most enjoyable.
Winning a game with a sneaky opening trap is always fun
Where is the option winning because of opponent's blunder :)?
My favorite way to win is like this with a opening trap
winning a nice tactical game!
I like winning really complex tactical games, because I really get a confidence boost and it reassures myself that I have some brains and a good ability to calculate. Also, as someone else said I really love forcing draws when I'm losing :D
My favorite is winning a game where neither me nor my opponent made any flagrant errors.
Winning with a tough endgame battle.
Always the last one for me, with out a doubt
winning a nice game!!!
i dont mind losing if i have played a good game and have been a challenge for my opponent mostly i cant stand losing after making a bunch of blunders of course thats just the way it goes mostly i try to improve my game and differant aspects of the game
I like winning complex games.
Winning a complex positional game
I REALLY love the endgame!!!!
I'm going to play more chess games.
winning for a change.. im not a really good player... my uscf rating is like 406, and im 11 years old!! wow! thats bad
Hi:):):):):)
I love positional understanding, and I love endings. It was hard to decide between them, but... ¡positional has my heart!
i stink, at positional games, so i bote for a complicated positional game
The most enjoyable for me is the Ballroom Dancing because I like and enjoying myself when I'm dancing. Chess is next to my ballroom dancing.

there is no "winning against a good friend and having that good friend encourage you for it" or "losing to a friend and still feel good cause you fought a good fight!"
The opening is the best time to play "unusual" moves (such as boungcloud), in the middle game there's too many complications for any moves to be considered unusual, and in the endgame it's probably solvable anyway.
Positionally complex games, although any game that I learn something new I like. The only games I really don't like are the ones in which I make a stupid blunder.
Winning with a fun and challenging endgame battle is the most exciting for me. There is a lot more excitement at the end when the board is a little more open and there is so much less room for error trying to pin your oppnent and keep yourself from being pinned. Just my opinion.
winning for a chenge is my one. i some how lose lose again lose agoian win win win then lose win lose etc. it is sooooooo frustrating!!!!!!!
For me it's winning after choking out my opponent's initiative after a sacrifice and taking him down with my extra material, my second choice would be a game which ends something along the lines of this.
Me: Thanks for the free piece.
Opponent:YYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSS, you just fell for my trap! Ha! Now you lose your queen!
Me: Bg5 mate, GG
Opponent : No, I can block with my Knight!
Me:It's pinned actually
Opponent: No, nononononono this can't be happening....
this is one of my favorite games
I pick "a tough endgame battle". Unfortunately, most of my games aren't won like that! I often win on tactics, or in the opening if I'm white
i exercise a lot in endgame, i don't worry about that, but a tricky middle game win is what i loved
they are saying that im the most intelligent man of all time
definitely sharp tactics, makes sense that my tactics trainer rating is usually about 300 points higher than my games rating
overkilling the opponent with genius strategy and dropping bombs at the end game ... jk jk , I play for fun :)
Just win baby. Just win.
The most exciting is when the board is ready and both are about to start play! Imagine all the possiblities that awaits you!
How about a nice come from behind win?
