Some one from Azerbaijan.
Aronian seems to be peaking at the right time. Who else is really on their game? If he makes it through, I think his chances against Anand are good. About Carlsen, stop lamenting is decision not to play. I think it was the sound decision in more than one respect, professionally, psychogically, etc. I do not think his chances would have been good. As remarkable a talent as he is, I do not think he was ready. If he had played and lost badly, it could have had a detrimental effect on his development. It seems odd to say that about the player who has the highest rating in the world, but such is Carlsen's potential. Despite all he's accomplished, "you ain't seen nothin' yet."
@antinha just look at Carlsen's record against Anand. U will eat ur words. Only Aronian has a plus score against Anand. It will be a Anand - Aronian match
Carlson's points are all valid and there should be a fairer system.
In saying that i would have loved to see him play as i think he would have won and then beaten Anand, who is a very relieved man i should think.
Aronian will win and challenge Anand.... Oh, and my dark horse is Radjabov.
Aronian has been playing very strongly lately!
I never see chess championships never never yeah so what I do is just pick randomly to see if I clicked the #1 answer.
its definitely aronian, he wins the melody amber convincingly far above others!
Aronian will be the next world champion, his time comes.
i have a feeling that 2011 Aronian will be the next world champion.
IF ONLY WESLEY SO IS THERE!
Of course, he wouldn't have the same views if he was WC. And I still favor a match system, anyway.
Carlsen withdrew because he disagrees with FIDE on how the world championship is organised. He thinks there should be a tournamnet of the strongest players (including the world champ), and the winner should become the world champion.
Topalov certainly won't be a crowd favorite, as a while ago when the location (Russia) was confirmed, Topalov declared he wouldn't play a match vs. a Russian in Russia (clearly he is still remembering his Elista match with Kramnik). FIDE said if Topalov wouldn't play, he would be replaced by Grischuk. Topalov backed down, although Grischuk still got his opportunity to play when Carlsen withdrew! If Carlsen and Topalov had refused to play, Jakovenko would be a replacement.
Aronian not so good in this format compare to carlsen but I wnt him to win it.
I'm rooting for Kamsky, though.
I'm wondering if Kramnik can rebound from his performance in Amber.
Are these really chess players? Looks more like a list of Characters from a Tolkien trilogy.
The candidates matches mean nothing without Carlsen. Whoever wins the world title will have a hollow victory because Carlsen is clearly the strongest player in the world when he puts his mind to it. And his reasons for not competing were correct.
I voted Aronian though I would like to see Grischuk take it out. I think that if Aronian was to win, he would not beat Anand, but if Kramnik was to win, he may beat Anand. Don't know why I think that, I just do.
