Not so much a 'rook' sacrifice as it is a rook "sacrifice".
It's not really a sacrifice because Black won't capture White's rook. If he does, he loses.

Banjo is right, you have to be dumb to capture the white rook, so not a solution actually
It is a solution. You capture a knight in exchange for a pawn.
