I should have so much fun in my games.
Gives a new meaning to 'rook' sacrifice, awesome puzzle!
Not so much a 'rook' sacrifice as it is a rook "sacrifice".
It's not really a sacrifice because Black won't capture White's rook. If he does, he loses.
"That piece ain't really protected like you think it is." Heh.
Banjo is right, you have to be dumb to capture the white rook, so not a solution actually
It is a solution. You capture a knight in exchange for a pawn.
got it, but was too slow :( good puzzle though
What opening do you play to get into the starting position?
Would I have seen that in a game, as black?
Fool's mate, just fancier! :D
Attempted ... 10/03/2014
"God loved birds and created trees. Man loved birds and invented cages."
Had to see the mate before I could commit to using the Rook
Guys it isn't a rook sacrifice, it's a hanging piece. if Black takes Qxh5 is checkmate
Attempted again ... 01/21/2015
I used to much time and lost point, but I found the correct solution on the first attempt.
