    Pure garbage.  Lots of winning lines

    tend to agree with Jpatrick, I chose

    ({4:-17.34} 22. ... Qxg3+ 23. Kf1 Bxe3 24. Qxe3 Qxe3 $19)

    which is better than the computer's 17 points.  White is facing several mating lines from the end point.

    Maybe this is way above my level but how is

    ({4:-17.34} 22. ... Qxg3+ 23. Kf1 Bxe3 24. Qxe3 Qxe3 $19)

    better than

    ({4:-Mat02} 22. ... Bxe3+ 23. Qxe3 Qg2# $19)

    ????

    Sorry to be unclear.  I was saying that 22...Qxg3+ is better than the computer's -17.34 evaluation as it is all forced, and from the endpoint, ie from after 24...Qxe3, there are several clear mates.  He immediately takes every piece on the board leaving the king in the corner and then mates.

    25 Re1 (forced or 26...Qf2+ and 27... Qg2++) 25...Qxd2 threatens Qg2++ so

    26Rxe6 Nxe6 and mate is inescapable.  There is no better 26 rook move covering e2, 26 Re4 Qg2+ etc

    Thanks Escapest.  I now understand your statement.  Whether the advantage is 17 points or more than 17 it's still a huge advantage.  And definitely a winning line.  I'd still rather have mate in 2, though.

    Agreed, I was basically supporting Jpatrick as I tire of puzzles where we are given a situation with multiple winning moves and limited time to compare and evaluate between them with time so expensive that it becomes rational to grab the first move that looks good.  And then TT tells us we are wrong although our thinking was thorough and sound.

    BTW, I enjoyed your self-effacing facetiousness in your first comment.
